So, I decided to buy clothing that reminded me of my favorite movies. just for fun. It is something that is a little weird but explains me to a "T". I did go on a little bit of a shopping spree because most of my clothes did not fit me. So I thought.. "out with the old and in with the new" and I definitely don't plan on getting bigger. I got birthday money and a gift certificate so off I went. All my coats we larges and I was swimming in them so I had to get new ones. I got myself a Columbia jacket for Christmas already and was saving the rest for this month when everything went on sale. That is the main good reason for having a birthday in January, ha,ha.
I have to say I love Khols and I can only allow myself to go in there on rare occasion and with purpose or else I loose all control. I have their card and pay it off before it accrues so that I can save $. I got a flier from them for an extra 30% off!!!!! NICE! That is how I got those shoes and the satin coat. I am a frugal person when it comes to shopping cause they are just clothes, even though they bring me such sweet bliss, it is not worth paying too much; then it ruins it!
We went to Woodburn Company stores for our family day yesterday and spent a couple hours there and ate lunch. It was fun, but they did not have very much stuff that I liked so that was a bummer, oh well! Then I stopped by a Ross in Tigard on the way home.
I did end up finding some great stuff with spectacular prices. I am quite excited. When I was out shopping I thought how fun it was buying the shoes and how they reminded me of Mary Poppins, The Sound of Music, yadda, yadda, yadda, and so forth, that I looked for stuff that reminded me of my favorite shows.
I got..... a short black cape jacket that reminded me of The Wizard of Oz ( I had also gotten a frilly-ish EMERALD green shirt) that would be perfect for going to see WICKED. The jacket is cute, it kinda reminds me of the gate keeper in the Emerald City.
Next I got a short jacket that totally looks like the outfit Maria is wearing when she is first going to see the family in the Sound of Music, you know..when she's dancing all around?.. It goes with the shoes, makes the whole outfit. Geoff said I had to get them both, he is such a metro sexual, lol.
And then I found an awesome dark brown cord jacket that has bright teal lining in the hood to make it POP! The style is very different and when I saw it I immediately thought of The Village, it kinda has that cloakish feel in a 3/4 length, so cute.
I found one more jacket/sweatshirt that has bold houndstooth, fir detailed hood and was finished with large toggle buttons, it is awesome. Very "Gwen" who looks like she stepped out of the 40's.
All of the jackets we different and that was my purpose, I didn't want to look like everyone else, and they are all so cute. I have to divulge my spectacular deal...all 4 coats for $53.96, a steal!!!! Mind you- all have oringinal tags on them most of which were $80.00-$105.00. Then I went by Khos today and found some shirts and a purse, I have been searching for one for a while. I happend to see one that was the same bright teal as my new jacket to match. It was just what I was looking for....something with sassiness and easy to wipe off with kids and it even has enough room to throw a diaper and some wipes or toys in. I have had quite "the fun".

I tell you what...I need a good shopping trip! I'm starting to get the itch but I need to wait until after this baby comes and I can get the weight off. I'm so happy for you that you've gotten to where you want to be. It's always fun to get new clothes, shoes and accessories! Thanks for having us over the other night. We always have fun with you guys!
Is this Geoff Swanger, as in from Vancouver, WA, son of Mary and Jim? I'm thinking so. This is Amanda (Packard) Bennett. Super small world. Found your blog accidentally because my good friend Tish in SoCal has a link on her blog to her friends the Nash's (which jumped out at me because my cousin's, in Vancouver, also have a link to the Nash's and Tish and my cousin don't know each other at all.) Anyway that's why it jumped out at me so I snooped it and then saw a link to a swanger blog. Whoa, blast form the past. Anyway, if it is you Geoff, that's cool and a super small world. Tell your parents hi for me. I think my parents still run in to them from time to time. Oh and Jessica and Shelley, too. Not sure if they'd remember me. Anyway, Aloha!
